Graham Stewart - S44 Back In Black
Paris Charles (SMA) posted Wednesday April 6, 2005.

Popular South Australian Motorsport competitor Graham Stewart will be back in the Sprintcar saddle this weekend, (Saturday 9th of April) for the Croft Constructions South Australian 360ci Sprintcar Championship at Murray Bridge’s Riverview Speedway.

The adapt racer who has spent 99 percent of his seat time competing on the bitumen at Mallala Raceway or Hillcimbing at Collingrove in his trusty HQ Holden or aboard his GTR XU1 on the road courses in events such as the Adelaide Classic Rally is keen to get back on to the banked clay oval tracks to continue his need for speed.

Unfortunately for Graham his maiden Sprintcar sortie ended in a car destroying flip at Adelaide’s Speedway City during round 1 of the Revolution Racegear 360ci Sprintcar Series. ‘The front axel snapped in two and before I knew it I was on my lid and that was the end of that,’ said Graham.

Since the crash Graham purchased the ex Luke Dillon Cool car and has given the machine a new cosmetic face lift. ‘The car looks mean and is in immaculate condition, I really must thank my team and sponsors for all their support,’ continued Stewart from his Modbury workshop.

Last weekend Graham was set to debut the new car at Adelaide’s Speedway City for the Grand Final of the Revolution Racegear 360 Series. Unfortunately for Graham his chance to get a feel of the new car before this weekend’s state title was brought to an abrupt end when a mini cyclone ripped through the venue and subsequently the meeting was cancelled for safety reasons.

Graham and the team will venture to Murray Bridge ‘The Speedway Up the Freeway’ this Saturday night where a champion will be crowned. In closing, Graham would like to thank his team Craig, Ron, Mark, Dave, Garry & Chad, Shaun and Lee Dillon for their dedication and work effort. In addition Graham would also like to acknowledge Commercial Metal Polishers, Revolution Race Gear, Maxwill Race Engines, Luke Dillon Motorsport, Lightning Karts / Redback Race Equipment and ML & MK Baked Enamellers for their help.
